Just across the road from the fashionable NLGX (Nan Luo Gu Xiang), Mao Livehouse can usually be found swarming with trendy Chinese hipsters who speak your language. Pulling some of the hottest Chinese indie rock acts around, Mao Livehouse is one of the city's most popular live music venues. With its iconic logo and unforgettable rusted iron façade, Mao is a night you will not forget in a hurry. The interior bears the scars of many posters, but it's better for the wear. The bar and seated area as you walk in make the venue seem small, but not only does it house a foosball table as well as a set of fully functional toilets, the performance area itself is spacious and separated from the rest of the venue.
