From suburban Melbourne comes Flounder, five dudes into rock and funk and all things in between.

It all started in the summer of 2007 when four young friends decided it was time to do some thing constructive with their time and put their musical talents to good use. All but one member of Flounder have been good friends since they were at least 5 years old, until guitarist Alex Crosara moved over from the UK they had never played together but after realising they all had what it took to start a band they did. After listening to influences Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Sly and the Family Stone, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to name a few, Flounder began to jam and cover a lot of the songs they liked, and as time went on they started to put together songs they could call there own that truly represented what they were about and what they stood for, which meant straying away from the stereotypes and the growing indie scene. Flounders music has been described as a mix of Rock and Funk, heavy riffs and funky beats in which the emphasis is on having a tight sound to compliment their style. Early in 2010 Flounder took part in The First Annual Sounds Loud Festival in which they shared the stage with Blue juice, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Dream On Dreamer and many more, this was Flounders first festival and although were on early in the day brought a lot of attention from industry professionals and other bands.

Flounder have played in a lot of venues in Melbourne and Victoria supporting many bands big and small, as well as doing their own Headlining shows in such Venues as Cherry Bar, The Espy Gershwin Room, Colonial Hotel and Evelyn Hotel to name a few. Flounders growing support base led to being asked to perform on a regular basis at certain venues. Flounder are currently in the process of recording their first EP due November 2011 and in releasing their first single 'Heat Of Winter', they had hundreds of people through the doors to support them. These numbers are increasing with Flounders growing fan base.

Flounders future in music looks to be a wild adventure in which its members will work hard to keep alive their blend of funk rock music and continue to play quality live music.
