In a follow-up from my post about Sound Kapital’s book launch, I am happy to let you all know where you can pick up a copy in Beijing! There are three handy locations, two of which you probably pass by most weekends, if your weekends are anything like mine.
1. Three Shadows Gallery. If you haven’t made the trek out to Caochangdi to check out this photography gallery, make a day of it and check out some of the others in the area as well. You might have to get them to explain to the taxi driver where it is — their number is + 86 10 6432 2663, and they’re open Tuesday — Sunday.
2. The Bookworm. Good ol’ Bookworm. I’m sure you all know where this one is, tucked away just off of South Sanlitun Street. Pick it up when you’re next at a book talk or just whiling away the hours with a good book and a cuppa (and exceptionally slow internet).
3. Plastered 8 T-Shirts. If you haven’t been, you can find this cute t-shirt shop fitting right in with the rest of Nanluoguxiang’s modern Chinese boutiques. And according to their website, this week they’ve got 50% off selected products, which might take a little of the sticker shock out of shopping on NLGX.
So, get to one of those places soon to get your hands on a copy of Sound Kapital. You won’t regret it! Especially since — and I don’t know how I forgot to mention this while writing about the launch — the book comes with a compilation CD of some of the photographed bands. Definitely worth the money.
Let me know if you get one and what you think of it!
